Roy Lichtenstein

Roy Lichtenstein was one of the most famous exponents of pop art. Born in New York in 1923, he attended Ohio University to devote himself to the fine arts. He temporarily interrupted his studies due to the outbreak of the Second World War, in which he took part as a technician in the US Army. After graduating, he combined his activity as a university professor with that of an artist, frequenting the New York environment. In the sixties, he exhibited alongside colleagues such as Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and James Rosenquist. His style has been influenced by comics and advertising, always with a humorous look.
