Umbrian painter, born in Todi in 1944 is one of the most appreciated Italian artists of the twentieth century.
He deals with art, but also alternates different projects such as interior design, without forgetting his collaboration in Piero Dorazio's studio. He has worked both in the material-gestural field and in the conceptual field with the typical everted monochromatic works. Amadio goes beyond the two-dimensionality and gives importance to space and matter. His works do not present gashes or tears, but follow soft lines that furrow the canvas like footprints, passages of something that marks the passage of time; time and space therefore coexist in these large monochrome canvases. The technique used is certainly inspired by the twentieth century currents, but it is above all the result of personal research and experimentation; the color, a fundamental element, constitutes the last step of the creative process and is applied using resins and dyes based on rubber rubber, very elastic and suitable for conforming to the canvases. Amadio has become one of the most interesting and recognized contemporary artists both in Italy and abroad.
